Final Paragraph: Better conditions in prisons?
Therefore, for developed and integrated societies to exist,
prisons must have decent conditions so that torture, ill-treatment, abuse and
miserable conditions do not exist. Although criminals are problematic and
deserve punishment according to their crime, prisons must provide tools so that
future prisoners can reintegrate into society, with the aim of being better
citizens and not committing crimes again. In this way, there would be low crime
rates, as evidenced by empirical evidence from other countries, and on the
other hand, there should be legislation that promotes decent prison conditions.
Finally, it is essential for the success of this, the existence of a solid
justice system whose main objective is to grant justice to those affected by
crimes and that the prisoners serve their sentences in decent conditions.
